CORPORATE VOICES FOR WORKING FAMILIES
Corporate Voices for Working Families is a business membership organization representing the private sector on public and corporate policy issues involving working families. ComVis has worked with Corporate Voices for several years to advance causes across their program areas.
The annual Employer Toolkit mailer assists managers in educating their employees about the availability of the Earned Income Tax Credit and other federal benefits. As each year's mailer has to be eye-catching and new, ComVis has explored fresh presentation devices, both in terms of fun packaging and the actual contents of the mailer. The 2007 iteration was a bright green pocket folder, while the subsequent years used a transparent bubble-wrap envelope stuffed with information sheets, a poster, introductory booklet, calendar of important dates, and a CD, among other items.
Other toolkit packages have focused on programs to help working mothers breastfeed and a challenge to encourage businesses to adopt flexibility models for workers. Each toolkit requires its own branding and packaging solution.
ComVis has also produced supporting materials for the Best of Congress awards, a program honoring federal legislators who have gone above and beyond in supporting family-friendly public policy, and in creating a flexible workplace for their own staff.
In 2007, ComVis developed a new visual brand for Corporate Voices, to more accurately depict the organization's mission of spotlighting the intersection of business, families, and policy. The new logo is more appropriate to the organization's corporate members and more clearly relates to the mission.
In partnership with Bixal, a Virginia web development company, we then developed a new web presence, incorporating more interactive elements and setting Corporate Voices apart as a source of news and information in the working families sphere. Built in Drupal, the site allows Corporate Voices staff to update and manage the site as often as needed, and offers increased flexibility for adding documents and tracking visitors.
Finally, ComVis has produced a number of supplementary promotional and educational materials for CVWF, including reports and white papers, an online training site for member companies, and marketing collateral. ComVis also assists with preparations for the annual meeting, from consulting about the name and theme to producing the materials--event signage, meeting literature, postcards, and promotional items.
